 I paint from life or from photographs focussing mainly on the genre of still life and portraiture. Faces tell a story, all faces are different. Painted objects may reveal a narrative for the viewer to explore. I am preoccuppied with the sense of individual identity and presence which has often a touch of the absurd. The execution of my representational paintings are juxtaposed with a more painterly approach that explores the language of paint and colour.
